Things I love Thursday

Since being on maternity leave I have watched more TV than I probably should.  In doing so I have rediscovered a show I really liked and I found a new one.  My rediscovery is Ellen, I love her and her wit and I really have enjoyed discovering The View, mostly for Whoopi.  I might have to DVR these when I go back to work in 3 weeks.  I am sure my hubby is going to love that since in the last year I have fallen in love with Oprah and DVR her shows too.  Anyone else love these ladies???  I guess it could be worse, I could be watching soap operas.

Thing I love Thursday…

fergie2.jpgWho else loves Fergie’s music?  So I know I am over 30 but I love her stuff.  I have a wide range of music I like everything.  I can find something in every genre that I can listen to except maybe hard core rap.

My hubby bought me her Duchess CD for Christmas and I love every track.  I think because she seems represent the total women, expect being a mom.  She is strong, powerful, fun, beautiful and sexy at the same time.  Who won’t want to be all that and a mom 🙂

So I drive to work and turn up the radio and I don’t care who sees me being Glamourous in the car!

Plus she has a super hot boyfriend, Josh Duhamel from the TV show Las Vegas.  I am married not dead right?

Things I love Thursday

So there are a lot of things I love but sitting here after work watching Opera I am eating one of my favorite snacks.  Veggie Crisps Cheddar & Jalapeno a Snyder’s product (they make yummy pretzels too).  These crisps are so darn yummy and addictive.  I have to try and leave the bag in the kitchen and just take a few at a time so I don’t eat the whole darn bag.

So while I was eating them today watching DVR’ed (love that too) Opera discuss childhood obesity and feeling pretty good about my snack of choice I asked hubby to try them.  He had just been munching on the crumbs in the bottom of a potato chip bag.  While arguing with him why I thought Oprah’s topic was so important he tried my chips.  Guess what… he stuck his hand in my Veggie Crisps bag and got more.  So I guess if I can get my hubby to like them so can anyone.  Plus my kids like them too.

Here are the ingredients.  They sound pretty all natural and good to me, except what the heck is Maltodextrin?  Is that the diet pill from the 80’s?

Whole Potato Flour, Vegetable Oil (one or more of the following: Sunflower Oil, Safflower Oil, or Canola Oil), Tomato Puree, Spinach and Beet Powders, Salt, Turmeric, Whey, Cheddar Cheese (Pasteurized Milk, Cheese Cultures, Salt, Enzymes), Maltodextrin, Onion Powder, Buttermilk Solids, Green Bell Peppers, Garlic Powder, Jalapeno Peppers, Spices, Extractives of Paprika, Citric Acid, Lactid Acid, Natural Flavor, Vinegar, Sugar

They have other flavors too like Sundried Tomato Pesto which is equally yummy.  You can check out their products at

Things I love Thursday

greenhouse-night.jpgOk, I think I am needing a little continuity with my blog at least once a week.  My blogging buddy over at thediaperdiaries always seems to have her blog all organized so I am going to follow suit and start a new “Things I love Thursday’s” catergory.  But like I said this is probably once a week and who knows I may change up the catergory to “Things I love Tuesday” if the mood hits me.

So here goes:  I love Horrocks Market.  On top of having an amazing greenhouse, they have the best selection of fresh fruit and veggies in town.  The selection is always so colorful and they always have a whole table or two of fruit and veggie selections from Michigan farms.  Nothing tastes better than home grown.  In addition I love to browse the selection of gifts for the home, the selection of unique and very healthy food items, meat and cheese selections and last but not least the outdoor plants.  My hubby calls me a plant nerd, which I am proud to say I am.

So if you are ever in the Breton and 44th Street area check it out.  I think they are reasonablly priced and gives Meijer a run for their money in terms of fruit, veggies, and meats.  Now if they only had shampoo, diapers and other personal care items I may never have a need to go back to Meijer.
